Preparatory Year Deanship at Um Al Qura University and Pearson Education to provide 13,000 students with e-learning technology

Mecca, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, May 21st, 2015 – The Preparatory Year Deanship at Um Al Qura University (PYP-UQU) has announced it is partnering with the world’s largest learning company, Pearson, to provide students with online learning and assessment technology.

Under the agreement, Pearson will provide the University with 13,000 licences for the digital products, MyMathLab, MyITLab and Mastering Physics. Saudi Educators Excel in Master Trainer Programme

Pearson programme enhancing standard of math and science education in KSA.

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, May 4th 2015 – The Chief Executive of Saudi Arabia’s Tatweer Company for Educational Services (T4Edu) has congratulated the latest group of Master Trainers to complete the first phase of the Saudi Math and Science Teacher Development Programme.

The Master Trainer Programme is a key component of the broader Math and Science teacher development project being administered by T4Edu through the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Public Education Development Project (Tatweer), in collaboration with Pearson, the world’s largest learning company. Of the 407 participants that completed the most recent course of the Programme that concluded in December 2014, a 100 percent pass-rate was achieved, with 94 percent of these receiving the highest available score of an A grade. International eLearning Experts Gather in Riyadh for eLearning Event

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, March 6th, 2015 – The Ministry of Education’s National Center for e-Learning and Distance Learning has held its Fourth International Conference on eLearning and Distance Education. The event brought together some of the world’s leading e-Learning researchers and educators, to discuss ways in which new digital technologies can promote quality education in Saudi Arabia, and further afield.

Dr Rob Kadel, Head of the Washington-based Pearson Research and Innovation Network, gave a keynote address at the Conference. Dr Kadel called on educators, policy makers and digital developers to help ensure the digital learning technologies being employed in classrooms were those with the greatest impact on improving student outcomes. Education Survey: Saudi Learners Aiming High

Survey undertaken by world’s largest learning organisation gives snapshot of KSA students’ ambitions.

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, November 29th 2014 – A study undertaken by Pearson, the world’s largest learning company has found that Saudi students have high expectations for their future. Of those Saudi students surveyed, 71 percent revealed they are planning to undertake further study and 62 percent said that they have plans to study abroad.

Pearson, which offers Edexcel, BTEC and LCCI qualifications in Saudi Arabia, surveyed learners who had recently completed a Pearson qualification in the Kingdom. The ‘Next Steps’ Survey was part of a global undertaking by the company to determine how well qualifications are preparing learners for higher education and the workforce, and to better understand the long-term career aspirations of graduates. Pearson Working with Tatweer to Deliver Training to 500 Master Educators

T4EDU Launches Math and Science Teacher Development Programme

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, November 27th 2014 – Saudi Arabia’s Tatweer Company for Educational Services (T4EDU) in conjunction with Pearson, the world’s largest learning company, have announced the wider rollout of the Saudi Math and Science Teacher Development Programme.

The programme will see ultimately 500 educators from across the Kingdom take part in a Master Trainer Training Programme across three levels of learning: Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced. Foundation level training will take place in November and December 2014, with further levels planned in 2015.  The 500 Master Trainers will then go on to provide professional development training to over 100,000 primary and secondary teachers across the country, building Saudi teachers’ pedagogical skills and knowledge in the mathematics and science fields. Taibah University and Pearson Announce World Class Learning Ecosystem

12,000 students to experience new learning technology over the next three years

Student engagement, retention and achievement set to improve under new agreement.

Riyadh, KSA, August 12th 2014 – Taibah University has announced that Pearson, the world’s largest learning company, has won the contract to roll out an all-inclusive, state-of-the-art Learning Ecosystem. The Programme will be implemented as part of the University’s preparatory year programme, which is undertaken by more than 4,000 students each year. The agreement will transform Taibah University from a traditional campus to a fully blended learning environment over the next three years, placing the University at the forefront of digital learning transformation in the Kingdom.

The agreement builds on a close existing relationship between Pearson and Taibah University, which started last year with the initial rollout of customised foundation resources, and continues through the various subsequent phases covered under this new agreement. Saudi Rail Sector to Benefit from 3,000 New Trainees

Saudi Railway Polytechnic and TQ Pearson Launch Kingdom’s First Rail Training College

Buraydah, Saudi Arabia, June 29th 2014 – To meet Saudi Arabia’s increasing demand for highly trained, well qualified workers, international education provider, TQ Pearson has opened a brand new College in Buraydah, Al Qassim Province. The Saudi Railway Polytechnic (SRP) will give young Saudi men world class technical training, as well as English language skills, to help them become the country’s rail technicians of the future.

The SRP is the first ever railway polytechnic to be opened in Saudi Arabia. Working in partnership with the Saudi Railways Company (SAR), the College will be operated by TQ Pearson, a company which also administers several of the Kingdom’s Colleges of Excellence. SRP will be able to accommodate up to 3,000 students, between the ages of 19 and 23, at any one time. Students of the College, which are drawn from all over the country, will undergo a rigorous application process. The intensive selection procedure includes a two week period of interviews and placement assessment, ensuring the most suitable students are selected for enrolment. Pearson Welcomes Saudi Arabia’s Renewed Commitment to Education

Riyadh, KSA, June 22th 2014 – The world’s largest learning company, Pearson, has welcomed the Saudi Arabian Government’s five year plan to develop its education sector.

The plan, approved by King Abdullah will see more than US$21.33bn (SAR80bn) spent on improving education in the Kingdom. Included in the education overhaul is the training of approximately 25,000 teachers, as well as building the online capabilities of educational institutions to promote e-learning. The funds are in addition to the already sizeable budget Saudi Arabia annually allocates to education. Pearson – SOCPA Partnership Brings New Learning Opportunities to Saudi Accountants

The Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants (SOCPA) and World’s Largest Learning Company, Pearson, offer new Arabic learning materials to the Kingdom’s accountancy students.

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, June 2nd 2014 – Saudi Arabia’s accountancy industry has become increasingly sophisticated over recent years, expanding the demand for high-quality professional education materials. To meet this rise in demand, the Kingdom’s industry group for accountants, SOCPA has collaborated with Pearson to translate textbooks from English to Arabic. The new texts will cover both intermediate and advanced levels of Financial Accounting and Auditing, and can be utilised by both university students and practicing professionals in Saudi Arabia, and across the Arab world.
